The only reason I would recommend the SmartThings Hub 3rd Gen to you is if you don’t have an ethernet port available. The SmartThings Hub 2nd Gen has a faster processor, more RAM and a battery backup that the SmartThings Hub 3rd Gen does not have. If you don’t have a SmartThings Hub already, I recommend the SmartThings Hub 2nd Gen.
